The city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India, is set to have its first Indo-Korean Center. It has been established by the MITCON foundation & Kiwa Consultants Pvt Ltd. MITCON is an educational trust registered under S.R. Act 1860 & M.P.T. Act 1950, which operates the MITCON Institute of Management (www.mima.edu.in, courses approved by AICTE, ministry of HRD, Govt.of India) & the MITCON International School (www.mis.edu.in), and, Kiwa Consultants Pvt Ltd, who are engaged into management consultancy services to Korean organizations and executes educational, cultural and social projects.
India and Korea share a lot of common things with respect to its culture and social structure, therefore a platform to enhance and experience the same was required, this center will bring both communities come closer to each other culturally, socially and professionally. The new K-wave generation and the general public will get to experience this platform of opportunities presented by IKC. The upcoming center will have Korean language and cultural courses, a research lab. for Korean studies, Korean scholarship, exchange and educational program consultancy services, collaboration facilitator and an industrial-academic platform for its students and members.
It is located in the premises of MITCON institute of management in Pune and shall have exclusive classrooms, office, Korean library, Korean cafe and sefie corner, image gallery, research lab and shall have a fusion of Indo-Korean decor in the upcoming new facility.
The IKC platform will facilitate sustainable opportunities for students and its members. The center with its dedicated team of professionals will operate and implement all its programs. These programs will bring in the expertise from both the communities to benefit each other. I would like to see more collaboration projects between academicians, artists and industries from both the communities.
The center will be located in the new facility of the MITCON Institute of Management and therefore have the advantage to be designed with Korean design inputs. The opening inauguration is planned in July 2021. However, our programs will be available online from April 2021 onwards.
This center will play a pivotal role for developing the relationship between India & Korea. I wish to receive your support and cooperation.
